We match your skills, availability and passions with our volunteer opportunities. Our projects range from once a year to once a week.

Food Pantry
Assist in serving clients needs by passing out various food and toiletry items to needy individuals/families.

Delivery Drivers

Food Donation Driver:
-
Driver to help JFSA better serve the community by retrieving in-kind donations from various stores across the valley and delivering the donations to be utilized in our pantry.

Pantry Delivery Driver:
-
We are in need of drivers to assist in delivering food to our homebound senior clientele without means of retrieving their food allocation themselves. Drivers would take a handful of deliveries every other week.

Senior Share Driver:
-
Drivers will assist in the delivery of our Senior Share care packages delivered to 30 residents twice monthly.

Senior Companion
-
Senior Companions are volunteers 55 and over who provide assistance and friendship to seniors who have difficulty with daily living tasks, such as shopping or running errands. The program aims to keep seniors independent longer and provide assistance to family caregivers. Senior Companions will meet at least once a week, in-person, with our homebound seniors to provide companionship and assist with basic daily needs.​

​​Senior Companions serve 15 to 38 hours per week helping an average of two to four adult clients live independently in their own homes. Volunteers receive pre-service orientation, training on various available community services, supplemental insurance while on duty, and may qualify to earn a tax-free, hourly stipend.

Foster Grandparents

Foster Grandparents are role models, mentors, and friends to children with educational needs. The program provides a way for volunteers age 55 and over to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities. Help children learn to read and provide one-on-one tutoring.

Foster Grandparents serve 15 to 38 hours per week helping in a classroom, working one-on-one or with small groups of students. Volunteers receive pre-service orientation, supplemental insurance while on duty, and may qualify to earn a tax-free, hourly stipend.

Holocaust Survivor Lunch Delivery

Volunteers will assist in serving Holocaust Survivors by making calls to survivors to provide information and gather updates, packing lunches for survivors and their families, and delivering the meals to the survivors’ homes. This ensures that Survivors are surrounded by a community full of caring and supportive relationships.

Call Survivors once a month to relay relevant information, extend an invitation to the month’s luncheon, and obtain any updates that they provide.

Meet with fellow volunteers and staff once a month to pack the meals with care and ensure that each Survivor is receiving the correct order.

Assist in delivering the meals to our Survivors and provide them with a supportive experience and quality service.

JFSA will work with you to plan an event specifically tailored to your interests, budget, time, and objectives. Our staff will help you to coordinate service birthday parties, family volunteer events, bar/bat mitzvah projects, and more.​
